Coronavirus outbreak: 399 new COVID-19 cases, 48 new deaths reported in Ontario | FULL

Ontario’s chief medical officer of health Dr. David Williams provided an update Thursday on the latest COVID-19 cases in the province and discussed the public health agency's ongoing response to the pandemic.

Williams reported 399 new cases of the novel coronavirus, bringing the provincial total to 19,121 cases.

The death toll has risen to 1,477, as 48 more deaths were reported.

Meanwhile, 13,569 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, which is 71 per cent of cases.

Thursday’s report marks an increase of 2.1 per cent in total cumulative cases, part of the downward trend the province is now seeing.
