India's first Anti radiation missile RUDRAM #drdo

@The RUDRAM is a series of advanced air-to-surface missiles developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) of India. Its primary purpose is to enhance India's Suppression of Enemy Air Defence (SEAD) capabilities by targeting and neutralizing enemy radars, communication systems, and other radio frequency sources.
Here's a breakdown of the #RUDRAM series:
Key Features and Variants:
* #Rudram-1 (New Generation Anti-Radiation Missile - NGARM):
* Type: Air-to-surface anti-radiation missile (ARM).
* Function: Designed to detect, track, and destroy enemy radar installations and communication systems. It can strike accurately even if the radiation source is switched off after the missile locks on.
* Launch Platform: Primarily integrated with Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter jets, but can be adapted for other platforms.
* Range: Up to 250 km, depending on launch conditions.
* Speed: Supersonic (up to Mach 2).
* Guidance: Inertial Navigation System (INS)-GPS navigation and a Passive Homing Head (PHH) for terminal guidance. It also incorporates a Millimeter Wave (MMW) seeker to target even passive radar systems.
* Status: Successfully tested and expected to be inducted into the Indian Air Force within the next two years. It's intended to replace Russia's Kh-31 missile currently in use.
* #Rudram-2:
* Type: Hypersonic air-to-surface missile.
* Function: Designed for both anti-radiation and ground-attack roles, capable of neutralizing various types of enemy assets, including fortified military installations, aircraft hangars, bunkers, and airstrips.
* Range: Approximately 300-350 km.
* Speed: Hypersonic (up to Mach 5.5).
* Payload: Can carry a warhead of up to 200 kg.
* Status: Successfully flight-tested in May 2024.
* #Rudram-3:
* Type: Two-stage hypersonic missile.
* Function: Designed for deep-penetration strikes with enhanced lethality against heavily fortified targets.
* Range: Reported range of 550-600 km.
* Warhead: 200 kg.
* Guidance: Advanced guidance systems including INS, GPS, and a potential Imaging Infrared (IIR) seeker for terminal precision.
* Design: Features 16 control surfaces for high maneuverability and a dual-pulsed solid rocket motor for hypersonic speeds and a semi-ballistic trajectory.
* #Rudram-4:
* Type: Long-range air-to-surface missile (ALSM) designed to operate at hypersonic speeds.
* Status: Confirmed by the #DRDO Chief to be under active development.
Development and Manufacturing:
* The RUDRAM series is designed and developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), with the Defence Research and Development Laboratory (#DRDL) in Hyderabad as the nodal laboratory.
* Various other DRDO laboratories contribute to its development, including Research Centre Imarat (RCI), Advanced Systems Laboratory (ASL), Defence Electronics Research Laboratory (DLRL), and Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE).
* For production, #Bharat_Dynamics_Limited (BDL) and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) are expected to be involved, with Adani Defence & Aerospace also emerging as a key player for production of the Rudram-I and Rudram-II.
@The RUDRAM series signifies a significant leap in India's indigenous missile capabilities, enhancing its strike capabilities and reducing reliance on foreign imports for crucial military technology.
