Who Holds the Microphone: Women from the Rivers, Peace Weavers

A participatory video developed by a group of internally displaced women in Colombia who draw on their indigenous heritage of conflict resolution and reconciliation to counter violence in their communities and educate women on their rights and the value of their work. They call on humanitarian organizations to invest more into local communities to achieve gender-transformative change.

Who Holds the Microphone is a series of UN Women-produced participatory videos that allow crisis-affected women to speak about the initiatives they self-developed and implement in order to create transformative change for themselves, their dependents and their communities.  This project was funded by the US Government.
