Guadalupe River Whitewater Rafting near Canyon Lake

The river's flow comes from the dam at Canyon Lake and natural springs and is more intense than the other central Texas areas.

The Horseshoe on upper Guadalupe River has scenic limestone bluffs. The Chute is a few hundred yards long.

Around Gruene: There are sets of small rapids. When water levels are low, this is one of the only places to tube on the Guadalupe. When water levels are high, this can be a very wild rapid ride.

There were no fish jumping out of the water like so often seen in the San Jacinto River, but turtles and ducks are more plentiful.
