John Leo Nicholas was born in Lafayette, Louisiana on May 2, 1938 to Lionel and Evelyn Nicholas (deceased).

He attended Harper Elementary-Jr. High, Booker T. Washington High School, and joined the United States Marines Corps. He worked and retired from Fleming Food in Houston, Texas.

Leo acknowledged his faith in God at Our Lady St. John Catholic Church.

He united in Holy Matrimony to Rita L. Boutte (deceased).

He preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three siblings, Leonard, Oren, and Joyce.

On Thursday, January 3, 2013, Leo exchanged his earthly life for eternal life in God's kingdom.

Leo leaves to cherish his memories: his children, Helena Ann, John Leo, Christopher Kevin, and James Allen (all of Houston, Texas); brother, Lionel Jr. of Brownwood, Texas; grandchildren, Bailey Nicholas, Montgomery, Texas, Dennis, Gregory, Shunta, Stewart, and Chloe (all of Houston, Texas) and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
