The BEST Way to Know If You're Ready to Muscle Up (TRY IT!)
Here is the quickest way you can tell if you are ready to do the muscle up:
If you can do ONE explosive pull up that gets the lower portion of you chest above the bar, then you will be ready to start training the muscle up. Simple as.
A lot of muscle up tutorials will tell you that once you can do 10 pull ups, you'll be able to do the muscle up. However, this is only a half-truth.
If you can do 10 pull ups, then you should be able to do 1 explosive pull up where your chest comes above the bar.
Before you are able to muscle up, you need to make sure you are able to do these two things:
1. You can do an explosive pull up where your lower chest comes above the bar
2. You can do 10 pull ups EASILY. If you do 10 pull ups and the 10th pull up is a struggle, you are NOT ready for the muscle up. On the other hand, if you do 10 pull ups and the 10th pull up is easy, then you are ready to start training for the muscle up.
