Tour of my 180 Litre Tanganyika Cichlid Tank - 01

Well this is just a first in a series of videos about a 180 Litre freshwater tank that I have just setup and will eventually be host to a 7 bar Kigoma Frontosa, a few Goby cichlids and a couple Synodontis catfish.

This instalment introduces the tank as it's cycling with four Bronze Corydoras and just fresh from being setup. The tank itself is 91cm (L) x 45cm (W) x 45cm (H) and is secondhand.

The canister filter is an eBay find and is a Hopar UVF-3328 running @ 2200 L/h (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/271046349841). For the price and filtration level I couldn't leave it there (a similar AquaOne Nautilus is a couple hundred dollars, if not more). The only thing with the Hopar is is that you have to supply your own media. I added two trays of my own ceramic noodles (both a packet of AquaOne noodles and a container from another tank that doesn't need then since it's going to be a Live Rock marine system when it's done), a tray of activate carbon on top of a satchel of Purigen and finally some filter wool.
