ProRes on Windows - Was Miraizon Really That Bad?

A look at the old Miraizon Prores codecs for Windows and a few unscientific tests to see if they are really as bad as the reputation they have been left with since their demise.

In this video I compress two identical compositions out of Adobe After Effects using the Miraizon ProRes HQ codec from Windows and the Prores HQ codec from my Macbook. I then look at their properties, CPU usage, specs in Davinci Resolve and also take a look at the files themselves to see if they are clearly different from each other.

NOTE: Due to the compression of the screen capture and YouTube, the view online has much more banding than the originals. These can be downloaded below...

WINDOWS PRORES: http://bit.ly/2xCfxuI (319MB)
MAC PRORES: http://bit.ly/2wQRdFT (217MB)

Thanks for watching and let me know if you used these codecs or maybe still do.
