45699 'Galatea' 'The Fellsman' - (18/06/2014):

Whilst on holiday in Cumbria I just had to take the trip over to the Settle & Carlisle for this regular Wednesday summer working of Statesman Rail's day tour from Lancaster to Carlisle & return which is operated by WCRC based at Carnforth with a loco from their 'pool'. I was very pleased that Jubilee 5X 'Galatea' was the 'chosen one' today & the first clip shows her on the outward leg passing Garsdale station. Later I joined the crowds at Ais Gill for the return climb through Mallerstang Common to the summit but unfortunately suffered a bit of a 'botch' which I hope does not spoil the enjoyment of the shot....... I was so engrossed in watching the scene unfold & distracted by the blowing RH piston gland (that was not apparent earlier in the day) that I forgot to zoom out as quickly as I should have.... then I woke up & hopefully made a good 'recovery'!! It had been a glorious day with wall to wall sunshine but sadly clouded over prior to 45699's arrival so she was not to be bathed in sunshine...... enjoy!!
