Free Ride

The plaintiff says he rented a month-to-month place from the defendant. He claims he stopped paying rent after the pipes burst and weren’t fixed properly, which caused mold that ruined his sneaker collection. He’s suing for his rent back. The defendant says a friend rented out her basement to the plaintiff when she was out of town, and claims he wanted her to pay him off to move out.
