Volunteering Opportunities with Hosparus Health

Kristi visits with Jessica Bryd, Volunteer Manager of Hosparus Health, to discuss Volunteering Opportunities with their organization.
Hosparus Health is was originally founded in 1978 by a group of volunteers starting in Louisville. Hosparus Health is a nonprofit healthcare organization that provides hospice and palliative care. Since 1978, Hosparus Health has expanded their footprint and now serve over 40 counties throughout Kentucky and Indiana. The Hosparus Health Barren River office serves the 10-county BRADD region. Volunteers at Hosparus Health not only help fulfill a requirement by Medicare, but volunteers are very important to the mission of Hosparus Health and at the heart of the work that Hosparus Health does. Volunteers can serve in various roles: administrative help in offices, care makers that make beautiful gifts for patients like blankets, and patient support volunteers that visit patients wherever they call home- a private home, a nursing facility, or an assisted living facility.
