Pediatric Cardiac Transplantation Across Two Eras | JACS Research News | ACS

Researchers at the University of Florida assessed surgery patterns and outcomes for pediatric patients undergoing heart transplantation across two consecutive eras (1986-2022). Their study, published in the Journal of the American College of Surgeons, found that while patients undergoing cardiac transplanting in the most recent era (2011-2022) were generally sicker and at higher risk of complications, they had better outcomes than patients in the previous era (1986-2010).
