Panel reviews impact of microbiome manipulation to improve outcomes following cancer surgery
Mr. James Kinross (panel keynoter) discusses his remarks and expected highlights of a panel discussion of microbiome management following cancer surgery. They included debate over the safety and utility of antiseptics, nutritional supplements, antiobiotics and bowel preparation solutions. But the overall objective of the session was to provide foundational science of microbiome and help surgeon-scientists and practicing clinicians understand its role in precision medicine and reduced complications following surgery.
