Before and After - Cyclone Gabrielle - Railway destroyed at Awatoto

2 of the rivers that caused astronomical damage, the Tutaekuri, and the Ngaruroro, come together at Awatoto just before they reach the ocean.

It was here that the railway bridge was destroyed, upstream, numerous road bridges were also destroyed.

A NOTAM (NZR498 and 499) is now in force in the Hawkes Bay due to rescue and recovery operations, Drone footage shot just before NOTAM imposed on 17 Febuary .
