26 Shiv Temple - 200 Years Old || Historical Templs || Heritage Place || Khardah || English

26 Shiv Mandir at Ramhari Biswas Ghat Road, Khardah in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. It is written on the board that these groups of temples are protected monuments under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) (Kolkata circle). But absolutely there is no protection to these beautiful monuments. It is allowed to ruin on its own. All the temples are of 'Aatchala' (eight roofed) style of Bengal’s temple architecture. These 26 temples are divided into two groups. 20 Temples in one place square shape and another 6 temples facing the Ganges. Each temple has a Shiva ling made of kosthi pathar touchstone. The front door contains stucco works with floral motifs and they are visible in the other temples of the bigger complex also. The temples of the bigger complex are designed in such a way that six temples are on the opposite side (amounting to twelve in number) and four each on the other sides facing each other (amounting to eight). There are two temples each on both sides of the gate.

26 পশ্চিমবঙ্গের উত্তর 24 পরগনার খড়দহের রামহরি বিশ্বাস ঘাট রোডে শিব মন্দির। বোর্ডে লেখা আছে যে মন্দিরের এই দলগুলি ভারতীয় প্রত্নতাত্ত্বিক জরিপ (ASI) (কলকাতা বৃত্ত) এর অধীনে সুরক্ষিত স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ। কিন্তু একেবারে এই সুন্দর স্মৃতিস্তম্ভগুলির কোন সুরক্ষা নেই। এটি নিজেই ধ্বংস করার অনুমতি দেওয়া হয়। সমস্ত মন্দির বাংলার মন্দির স্থাপত্যের 'আটচালা' (আট ছাদযুক্ত) শৈলীর। এই 26 টি মন্দির দুটি গ্রুপে বিভক্ত। 20 টি মন্দির এক জায়গায় বর্গাকৃতি এবং অন্য 6 টি মন্দির গঙ্গার মুখোমুখি। প্রতিটি মন্দিরে রয়েছে কোষ্ঠী পাথর স্পর্শ পাথরের তৈরি শিব লিঙ্গ। সামনের দরজাটিতে পুষ্পশোভিত মোটিফের সাথে স্টুকো কাজ রয়েছে এবং সেগুলি বড় কমপ্লেক্সের অন্যান্য মন্দিরেও দৃশ্যমান। বৃহত্তর কমপ্লেক্সের মন্দিরগুলি এমনভাবে ডিজাইন করা হয়েছে যে ছয়টি মন্দির বিপরীত দিকে (সংখ্যায় বারোটি) এবং চারটি অন্যদিকে একে অপরের মুখোমুখি (আটটি পরিমাণ)। গেটের দুই পাশে দুটি করে মন্দির রয়েছে।
