Sciatica is a pinching or irritation of the nerve that occurs in your lower spine. This often sends a shooting pain down your legs and feet. As with other kinds of nerve pain, you may feel a tingling or numbness – and this usually differentiates sciatica from plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis, in contrast, is a painful condition that affects your foot’s sole and heel. It is usually felt with every step that you take, most commonly after any period of rest. In most cases, Plantar Fasciitis treatment is fairly successful. But when it occurs concomitantly with sciatica, complete resolution of the heel pain may be difficult.
