2004 Glass Masters Series CesarToffolo

Cesare Toffolo demonstrated at the 2004 International Flameworking Conference. He comes from a family of well-known master glass-makers in Murano, Italy. Both his father and grandfather were skilled artisans. Cesare began learning the fundamentals of lamp-working at the age of 14, and he is passing on his family traditions by teaching glass-making to his two sons.

With his inventive spirit and his own avant-garde technique, Cesare creates artistic glass of rare beauty, and many of his pieces are internationally exhibited in museums and galleries.

Since 1991, Cesare has been a sought-after instructor at glass schools around the world. His highly skilled techniques and beautiful forms comprise the technical standard by which other flame working is measured, and he is considered by many to be the finest technical flame worker in the world.
