Embracing the Magic of Japan: Discovering the Unbelievable!

Welcome to my YouTube channel! In this video, I want to share with you the most important advice I received from my sensei, Brad Schmidt, when I first arrived in Japan 23 years ago. He said, "Paul, don't be critical, let me explain."

My sensei emphasized how the Japanese are constantly involved in countless unbelievable endeavors, but sometimes they may say things that seem silly or nonsensical. However, he warned me that if I focused solely on those trivial aspects, I would miss out on the true magic of this incredible country.

Taking his words to heart, I adopted a different mindset. Instead of being critical and pointing out flaws, I embraced the beauty and marvel of everything around me. I realized that constantly nitpicking and dwelling on the negatives would prevent me from appreciating the amazing experiences Japan had to offer.
