On the evening of Friday, February 28, 2014 Emily arrived in Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was there to visit her boyfriend Robert, who had recently started an oil field job and was staying at a local motel. The couple had been dating since November and they were excited to spend the weekend together.

The two were having fun, until Robert became jealous of other men flirting with Emily, and they started to argue. Robert would later tell police that Emily left the bar with another man, and he went back to his hotel room, figuring she'd return later. When she did not return the following morning, Robert called 911 to report her missing.

Criminal Confessions delves into the psychological showdown that takes place inside actual police interrogation rooms and dissects what happens to yield a confession. Each episode takes viewers through a real homicide case.
