Early in the morning, Waterloo Police Dispatch receives a report that a truck has hit a fence in the 1300 block of W. Donald Street. Witnesses on the scene say there is blood everywhere and that two people in the front appear to have been shot. Off-duty detective Rob is called in to investigate a possible homicide. He arrives on the scene and discovers the bodies of Anissa and Junior both shot in the head.

Anissa is a student at the local community college trying to get her life on track. She's very close with her large family and has recently fallen head-over-heels for a new man, Junior. He comes from a well-regarded family in the area. His parents have lived in the same home for 30 years and are active community members. Anissa and Junior had only been dating for a few months but had grown extremely close.

Criminal Confessions delves into the psychological showdown that takes place inside actual police interrogation rooms and dissects what happens to yield a confession. Each episode takes viewers through a real homicide case.
