If you are going through a break up it can be one of the most painful experiences of your life. If not THE most painful experiences.
No matter what kind of relationship you were in. If it was 3 months, 3 years or 3 decades. You find yourself at the potential end of that relationship.

Trying to get your ex back is not easy. scary, confusing.
It is absolutely terrifying. Many of you have spent hours every single day trying to figure out what to do.

Today’s video I thought I would do something a little different. I had some recent questions that came up from various people that thought would go together for a video

Hey Coach, Just had a quick question for you. My girlfriend and I broke up last week. I came online and found you with a few other coaches. I love that you actually have a psychology degree and experience. Nobody else seems to have that. I also really like the way you talk with people. I can tell you really care. I’m really confused and scared about one thing. Some people say I should ignore my ex if she reaches out. Is that true? Should I ignore her for the 30 days.

1) Do NOT ignore your ex: This is absolutely one of the worst mistakes you can make.
Why would you ignore someone that you are wanting to repair things with.
If your sister and you got into a fight and she wanted to talk with you about it and work things out. Would you ignore her? Of course not!

She would get more angry and then say screw him then. I tried. Now of course in that case, she would be family. But with an ex, why would they keep reaching out if they are going to get rejected… That doesn’t make any sense.
If someone tells you to ignore your ex, you should ignore their advice. Because it sucks.
I had a guy I did a Skype coaching with a few months ago who tried that advice. He was walking in the park near his house. And guess whos there. His ex walking her dog. The dog sees him and runs to him. He doesn’t know what to do.

I had a woman I just a coaching ask me this question:
2) Should I be friends with an ex? I feel like if I am their friend I can eventually win them back.
I wouldn’t. You are lying about what you want. You aren’t being authentic to yourself and to them.
Do you want to listen to stories about someone new you are dating?

I have been having a very difficult time during my break up and spent a lot of time talking with my friends and family. It’s so confusing. Everyone tells me different things.

3) Talking to friends and family to get advice
Have them as an outlet to talk and spent time with them. Be very careful about taking any advice. I cannot think of anyone who has had a good strategy to reattract someone.
After watching your videos on attachment styles, I realize I have an anxious attachment style and mistreated my boyfriend. I screamed at him all the time. I put him, his friends and his family down. I feel terrible. My mom said I should send him a handwritten letter to him and mail it. Do you think this would help?
4) The handwritten letter does not work
Absolutely not. I hear people tell me all the time how they did the handwritten letter. It doesn’t work.

5) Learn about Love and Attachment. Attachment styles.
Someone’s attachment style is their blueprint for love.
Would you use the same blue prints to build two different things.
Would you use the blueprints for Yankee stadium to build The Golden Gate Bridge. Of course not!
