Natalia’s story: Promoting Gender-Sensitive Responses to the Refugee Crisis in Moldova

Natalia, originally from Ukraine's Mikolaiv region, fled the war last year and found temporary refuge in Ungheni, Republic of Moldova . There, she actively assists other refugees in integrating into their new community. Recently, Natalia became a local coordinator through a paid opportunity provided by UN Women Moldova and the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) program. This initiative, part of the UN Volunteers Community Program, aims to empower refugees with decent income and valuable work experience.

The paid volunteering missions are part of the project "Promoting Gender-Sensitive Responses to the Refugee Crisis at the Regional and National Level," implemented by UN Women and funded by the U.S. Government.
