Scientists from the Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology discovered 4.5 million-year-old fish fossils in the Moand area near Dehradun, Uttarakhand. The discovery proves that ancient freshwater ecosystems once existed in the Himalayan foothills, challenging earlier beliefs that the region was dominated only by terrestrial life.
