North Alabama BBQ at Chief & Snoogies

Chief & Snoogies is serious north Alabama BBQ. North Alabama barbecue stands apart from the rest of the state. Decatur is where you'll start to find slaw on pulled pork sandwiches, and in some cases even mayo. North Alabama barbecue sauces tend to be either Alabama white sauce or thinner, vinegar sauces more common in Carolina BBQ traditions.

Don't be mistaken: there are still places serving up sweet and savory BBQ sauces as well. What we learned from filming and releasing content about Decatur BBQ is that the locals are very passionate about their favorite BBQ joints. We have affectionately termed them, "The Decatur Army." Those folks are serious and proud bunch. As they should be.
