My Solo Trip to TURKEY

I’m back!!! & I have so much to share❤️ I will be replying to all of your comments and messages as fast as I can!

For this trip, I didn’t book tours in advance like I usually do. Instead, I booked directly through my hotel receptionist upon arrival…. Which turned out good! However, I still always recommend booking tours in advance, especially for popular places with high tourism.

Flights:
I booked directly through Turkish Airline. I really liked Turkish Airline! They were very thorough in making sure everyone had mask (not while eating of course) and providing hand sanitizer/sanitation kits. The food was fair, and they provided snacks and drinks in between meals. I had a straight flight from LAX to IST, which was great!! From IST, it took an hour to reach NAV, which is one of the airports in Cappadocia.

Hotels
1st hotel: W Istanbul
Address: Suleyman Seba Cad No:22 Besiktas, 34357, Istanbul
I really like the staff, they were all very friendly and helpful with advice on things to do.

2nd hotel: SULTAN CAVE SUITES
Address: Aydinli Mah. Aydinli Sok. No:40, 50180, Göreme
Absolutely a great hotel with an amazing rooftop for morning views of the hot air ballons. The staff is very nice, helpful and attentive. They provide complimentary breakfast. The hotel is perfectly located in Gerome, which is the best spot in Cappadocia. I highly recommend Sultan Caves!!!!!

3rd hotel: Kappadokya Hill Hotel
Address: Afetevler Mahallesi, Niğde Yolu 4. km Göre Kasabası, 50170, Nevşehir
This hotel is kind of far from the main city where the ballons are located….. but I highly recommend it!!!! Did you see the room??? I was so satisfied and in love with my room. It was one of the highlights of the trip to be able to do such an amazing accommodation. The room was expensive, but so worth it (I paid about $800 a night). There was a sauna, swim pool, fire place, Bluetooth sound system, smart tv, etc.

Tours:
Night 1: I went on a Bosphorus Dinner Boat Cruise, arranged by the W hotel. It was very entertaining and the food was good. I like how they highlighted every country and made all nationalities feel welcomed❤️

Day 2: I flew to Cappadocia from Istanbul. Upon arrival, I got settled in my hotel and arranged a tour for the next day with the receptionist. I spent the remainder of the evening walking around the city until dinner

Day 3: I woke up early to take to witness the amazing views…. It literally looks like a dream! All the hot air ballons are like floating in the sky. It’s a must see!
After breakfast, I went on the RED tour. My guide’s name Ufuk, he was very good and informative. The name of his tour company is Woop Woop tours located in Gerome. https://www.woopwooptravelturkey.com/
That evening, I went on a camel riding sunset tour, which was set up my my hotel.

Day 4: I woke up early (5am) to view the hot air ballons and take pictures on the rooftop. There are many tourist and staff to take pictures of you if you are alone, so don’t worry!!
I went back to my room after to rest until it was time for check out, which was around 12pm.
Then I got a taxi to go to my next hotel which was Kappadokya Hill. It was far from the city, about 20minute drive. Spent the rest of the day enjoying my room.

Day 5: went into the city by bus. Walked around the mall. I then went into the city to a Dress shop called Cappadocia Dresses (you can find them on instagram @cappadociarentaldresses ), the dress that I wanted to already rented for the day of my shoot. So I got the white dress, which I regret because I looked like I was a bride😩 She has amazing dresses tho, I highly recommend her. I had lunch, and brought souvenirs from the local shops for my family and friends.

Day 6: woke up at 3am to be ready at 4am for the hot air ballon photo shoot. Literally everyone that comes to Cappadocia hires a photographer and rents a dress to take pictures. My photographer was Murat (instagram: @muratkoksalart)…. He was good but very expensive $700 USD (it wasn’t worth the cost in my opinion). There’s many of good/reasonably priced photographers that you can find on IG.
I came back to the room after and relaxed all day.

Day 7: I woke up at 4am again to take a hot air ballon ride but due to the weather, no ballons went up… so I never got the opportunity to ride while in Cappadocia. Be mindful that no ballons will fly if the winds/weather isn’t right. So give yourself cushion days just in case you have to reschedule a photo shoot or a ballon ride. After the photo session, I went back to the room, changed my clothes and headed to the airport to go home.

I hope this information helps and provides a visual of what to expect and look forward to if you plan to visit Turkey🇹🇷 it’s a beautiful country and I enjoyed my vacation.
