My Solo Trip To Namibia | Morgan The Explorer ✈

Hey Y’all!!!!

Listed below is everything I use to create my trip!!!

Namibia is a country with many indigenous tribes. Do plenty research! The major international airport is in Windhoek (WDH). When you land, there are many restaurants, museums and things you can do in the city before traveling to the tribes (which are far from the city).

The San Bushman tribe tour was provided by Ai Aiba Rock Painting Hotel. It was a very short walk from the hotel and was guided by one of the hotel workers. The Bushman tribe are there seasonally, so if you plan to visit them make sure you verify with the hotel on the timing.

The Himba tribe are situated in their village in Opuwo (Northern Namibia). They are governed by their chief, who approves visitors. Their biggest survival comes from money from tourist. So if you plan to go, PLEASE do not go empty handed!!! The best offering is food (which decreases conflict over division of money). When I went, I brought a lot of their handmade items to support the tribal women, as well as brought a lot of groceries and gave money to the chief so he can distribute to the entire village. I paid my guide to take me from Windhoek to Opuwo to see the Himba tribe (8hr drive)... but the Opuwo Lodge offers group tours from the hotel, which is a lot cheaper.

Flights: https://www.momondo.com/
Tip: when purchasing flights to countries, be sure to NEVER choose a flight with multiple carriers (if one flight gets cancelled or delayed, the other flight/carrier will not honor or accommodate you)!!!!!! In some cases, you have no other choice.... but just keep that in mind.

Hotels: https://www.booking.com/
Tip: I generally only book with 4-5 star hotels. Specifically because they offer comfortable accommodations, security, on-site food, etc. I look for all that in a hotel! Especially traveling solo, choose a hotel that you do not have to leave unless you are touring.

Tours: https://www.viator.com/
Tip: Viator is absolutely my favorite app when it comes to finding great tours. I ONLY choose tours that have 5 star rating and are valid. Always read the inclusions and exclusions before booking.

Private Guide: https://pg.world/
I found my guide on Private Guide. When looking for a guide on the app, make sure you thoroughly read their bio, read their reviews and pay attention to the services that they offer. Request official identification and check out their social media/websites before booking!
My tour guide: Tijrapembe K Uarije aka “Steven” is a Namibian and was very knowledgeable.
