Hi Guys,
Rich and Mike here and thanks for checking out this video. In this lesson we will show you how to to develop the double paradiddle sticking into some really great sounding fill ideas.
The sticking pattern for this lesson be:
RLRLRR LRLRLL all in 16th notes - 1e+a 2e+a 3e+a 4e+a
The pattern is made up of 6 notes so we can play it twice and have 4 notes left over 6+6+4 = 16 notes
The final pattern will become:
RLRLRR LRLRLL RLRL
Take some time to get the pattern in your head before you start trying to do crazy licks with it, prepare properly and you will get much more from the idea.
Once you have the pattern down then you can start by moving it around the drums, playing all the accents and then only playing the first accent the flow of this pattern makes it feel great.
As always guys take your time it is not a race.
Have fun and enjoy.
Rich and Mike
