Rich and Mike here and thanks for checking out this video.
In this lesson we will show you how to use a change on subdivision to gain more speed around the drums. As drummer we are often focussed on that number on the metronome and we constantly stop playing to increase the tempo every few minutes, this lesson will help you explore getting more speed whilst staying at the same tempo.
The lesson is based around single strokes RLRLRLRLRLRLRLRL and playing them as two counts of 16th notes and two counts of 32nd notes in the same more, effectively doubling up your speed for two counts of the fill.
Once you have this down you can then start to be creative and see how you can move these ideas around the Kit.
Start slowly and then build up.
