Tracking Manatees in Georgia's Coastal Waters
This June, Georgia Aquarium partnered with Sea to Shore Alliance and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to study manatees on the Georgia coast. Biologists and veterinary staff worked together to fit manatees with GPS transmitters and then return them to the Cumberland Sound. Georgia Aquarium is working with several other organizations to understand and help this protected species.
