Decade Memoirs... Reefsteamers' Magaliesburg Trip behind 15F No.3016!

Magaliesburg, a quaint little town to the west of the bustling metropolis that is Johannesburg. This was once a popular destination for the Germiston-based Reefsteamers heritage group.

For almost 20 years or so, Reefsteamers ran their regular revenue earning trips to Magaliesburg behind an array of different locomotives. However, for quite a long time in the 2000s, navy-blue class 15F No.3016 - ''Gerda''- had the honours of hauling the trains.

Here we see No.3016 in 2006/7 on the return trip from Magaliesburg...little did we know that this would be one of the last trips she would perform due to boiler issues.
