1️⃣ Turning off the GTO:
- Golgi Tendon Organs (GTO's) are sensory receptors of the body which act as a protective mechanism to detect tension. Think of these as a protective mom, when overly activated they can pull you away from reaching your full potential of utilizing your muscles Stretch Reflex (which contributes to elasticity).
2️⃣ Improve Tendon Stiffness:
- Unlike muscular power production, Elastic Energy is Free (doesn't require ATP). By developing structural compliance in the lower body & a stiffer Achilles Tendon, you'll improve your body's efficiency of the Stretch Shortening Cycle.
