#Travelmakerkai's Christmas with #ThumbsUpForUganda

Belated Merry Christmas!! So the festive season is almost over, but I couldn't let it end before sharing a quick edit of my Christmas in Uganda!... 6months ago I met musician Fabio Tedde aka @pianist_without_borders and he casually shared his vision of touring Uganda with a custom designed piano to raise awareness and support marginalised children and families... I was like - 'yep, that's a project to make happen!' and #ThumbsUpForUganda was born!

I admire people who 'do', I admire dreamers who somehow, some way make it a reality without procrastinating. So I have total respect for @pianist_without_borders who's been in Uganda for 2months with his vision #ThumbsUpForUganda with team member Annette! I arrived towards the end of the tour (due to dissertation commitments!) however the short time I've been with him and Annette, I've seen how active they've been in local communities supporting children and families. This isn't a one-off! We're collaborating with local organisations to ensure the work continues. Inspired by this, I'll also be setting up @diversitymattersuk outreach projects and workshops in Ghana and Uganda. And of course #Art4ChangeTheWorld initiatives (empowerment through art) will continue... Special thanks to all those who've supported through donations (thank you @tescofood Dean St for food supplies which we distributed to children, @thebigdraw who supported Divercity Arts Projects in July - we were able to take some of the remaining art supplies to Uganda for a workshop with children in Masaka!) #RollOutTheBarrelTrust #AfriPads #NIAAD
