In this video, the APRC Physiotherapy department discusses the most common cause of elbow pain, Tennis Elbow, or Lateral Epicondylitis. Dr. Irfan Ahmed PT will explain tennis elbow, its home treatment and he will also tell other treatment options for tennis elbow. Tennis Elbow is the most common cause of lateral elbow pain. In Tennis Elbow, repeated wrist extensions cause micro-traumas in wrist extensor muscles. The main muscle involved is Extensor Carpi Radialis Brevis. It is a very painful condition, most commonly seen in tennis players and racquet sports, but it may occur due to overuse on your computer or tablet. You will learn exercises in detail to improve wrist extensive muscle strength and flexibility. Start with active wrist range of motion exercises then wrist extensor stretches exercise with dumbells and elastic bands.
