Nominated 3 Times, Wounded 14 Times: America Forgot His Name 🇺🇸

Colonel Robert L. Howard served five tours
of duty in Vietnam with MACV-SOG —
one of the most classified special operations
units in American military history.

He was nominated for the Medal of Honor
three separate times in thirteen months.
Each time, his nomination was downgraded
because his missions were too classified
to officially acknowledge.

On December 30, 1968 — wounded and weaponless —
he crawled through enemy fire to rescue
his fallen commander with his bare hands.

For three and a half hours he held
his entire unit together through
sheer determination alone.

By the end of his 36 years of service
he had earned:

🎖️ Medal of Honor
🎖️ Distinguished Service Cross
🎖️ Silver Star
🎖️ 8 Purple Hearts
🎖️ 4 Bronze Stars

Wounded 14 times. Never quit.

NBC News called him the most highly
decorated American soldier of the modern era.
