They said he'd never walk again. He walked straight back into war. 🇺🇸

Master Sergeant Roy Benavidez — one of the most decorated
soldiers in American history.

In 1965, a land mine left him paralyzed. Doctors prepared
his discharge papers. But every night, against doctor's orders,
he crawled to the wall and forced himself to stand again.

Three years later — on May 2, 1968 — he jumped from a helicopter armed with only a knife to save 12 surrounded Special Forces soldiers from 1,000 enemy troops.

He was shot, stabbed with a bayonet, and hit by grenade shrapnel. He kept going.

After six hours of non-stop combat, he was placed in a body bag. He spit in the doctor's face to show he was still alive.

37 wounds. 8 lives saved. One Medal of Honor. 🎖️

President Reagan said it best:
"If the story of his heroism were a movie script,
you would not believe it."
