Wirral Libraries Talk 2021: Viking Wirral after the Battle of Brunanburh AD937 (Prof Steve Harding)
Presentation given on Monday 12 April 2021. Special thanks to Diane Mitchell, Diane Moore and Kirsten Hume. Although still not proven all the evidence seems to be pointing at a Wirral location (& probably Bebington) for this famous Battle. The strong survival of Viking genes in old Wirral families for example could be interpreted either way and so we consider the consequences for Wirral in the most likely scenario it was here, but also briefly if not.
