The IISS Shangri-La Dialogue Sherpa Meeting is an important forum for the discussion of defence diplomacy in the Asia-Pacific. It provides a valuable annual opportunity for senior defence policymakers to examine the region’s evolving security challenges.

During the 11th Sherpa Meeting, which took place at the Shangri-La Hotel in Singapore on 15–17 January 2023, some of those senior defence policymakers explained why the event has become such an important fixture in their schedules.
