Buñuelos | Mexican Holiday Fritters with Syrup
The BEST Mexican Buñuelos & Syrup! Pronounced boon/whale/oh. Buñuelos are Soft, Crispy, and Flaky in texture they can be dipped in syrup or with some cinnamon sugar just like a churro. I hope you enjoy this ancestral recipe. Lots of love, Stephanie and Cloud

Oil Temp: 400 Degrees
1st Rest 30-35 Minutes
2nd Rest 20 Minutes
2 Dozen Buñuelos at 75 Grams each
Dough Ingredients
6 1/2 Cups AP Flour
2 1/4 Cups + some water if needed
1 Teaspoon Salt
6 Tablespoons Shortening or Butter Shortening
1 Tablespoon Baking Powder
Syrup Ingredients
2 Litters of Water or 8 1/2 Cups Water
2 1/2 Piloncillo
3-4 Cloves or 1/2 Teaspoon ground Clove
Zest of 2 Oranges
