Precious Opal from Australia

The opal's name was derived from the ancient Greek Opallios and Latin Opalus. The first known opal artifacts were found in a cave in Kenya as originated from Ethiopia around 4,000BC. Precious opal shows "play-of-color" but common opal don't appear. We can divided precious opal as five of the main types: black opal, white opal, crystal or water opal, boulder opal and fire opal.
