Dragon badge decoration #pcb #electronics #diy
I designed this small badge for PCBWay's 10th anniversary.
I tried to make a deeper meaning to the board. Since this year is the Year of the Dragon, I decided to make my design around a dragon motive.
I drew a dragon head and placed it on the PCB. Actually, I had to draw the dragon head in several instances and each instance had to include different parts of the dragon head. This is because some parts of the head are made with silkscreen while others are exposed ENIG areas.
Since Chinese decorations often combine red and golden colours, I chose red for the color of the PCB and I chose gold-plated surfaces. To add a more dramatic effect, the eyes of the dragon are red LEDs. It looks quite cool in the dark. Finally, I added some sort of rim to the coin which says "10 周年" which roughly translates to "10th Anniversary".
