Deep-Sea Symphony: Mega Sponge

This is an extremely rare find! This type of sponge has only been found in the waters around Hawai'i.

Video produced by GFOE video team during the 2017 Deep-Sea Symphony: Exploring the Musicians Seamounts expedition as a part of the three year campaign called CAPSTONE.

All footage was gathered aboard NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer with ROV Deep Discoverer and ROV Seirios, which are designed, maintained, and operated by the Global Foundation for Ocean Exploration in partnership with NOAA Ocean Exploration.
