44# The journey from Tasmania to Santiago and the Camino de Santiago in Tasmania

It still surprises me that people from all over the world come to Spain to walk to Santiago de Compostela. And it surprises me incredibly that they even promote their love for the saint and create Caminos in their own communities.

That is the story of our pilgrim friend Leanne Richard. Our Australian friend lives in Tasmania. She walked the Camino de Santiago on her own and fell in love with it. Now she talks to schools and to others in the community about her love for the Camino.

She is also part of the community that created The Way of St James Cygnet in Tasmania. An incredible pilgrimage that was born for the love of the Camino and the need to transmit that love to the community there that couldn't travel to Spain.

We will talk about her Camino and why she was known as the "purple pilgrim" and also about the Camino Cygnet. Are you ready to walk with us?
