RE-BROADCAST- FRIDAY 15TH MAY 2026 - CRIME WATCH LIVE

HIGHLIGHTS:

Day four, no sign of little Angelo Plaza: Father blocked by police at Goodwood home as mother, stepfather reportedly detained

The mysterious disappearance of two-year-old Angelo Tobias Plaza took another dramatic turn on Friday as the child’s father, Antonio Plaza, travelled to Tobago seeking answers, only to be blocked by police from entering the Goodwood area where the toddler vanished four days ago.

22-year-old Plaza arrived in Tobago on Friday May 15th, 2026, accompanied by his mother, Meena Plaza, amid growing public concern and intensifying investigations into the child’s disappearance.

Plaza, accompanied by Crime Watch host Ian Alleyne, went directly to Cambridge Trace, Goodwood — the same area where Angelo was last seen on Monday night — hoping to speak with the child’s mother and get answers surrounding the baffling case.

However, upon arriving, Plaza was reportedly prevented from entering the immediate area as police maintained a cordon around the property while crime scene investigators continued processing the scene.

Villagers, however, reportedly welcomed Plaza and Meena with open arms and expressed sympathy for the grieving family.

Some residents also claimed the area only became heavily cordoned off after word spread that Ian was on his way to the home.

The latest developments come as reports emerged that the child’s mother, Khalifa Tobias, and the toddler’s stepfather, Shannon Miller, have both been detained by police as investigations and searches continue.

Up to late Friday, police had not officially confirmed the detentions or disclosed the nature of the ongoing enquiries.

During an emotional interview with Ian Alleyne before travelling to Tobago, Plaza said he believed “something is not adding up” in the accounts surrounding his son’s disappearance.

He also claimed he had previously been restricted from being actively involved in Angelo’s life and questioned aspects of the timeline given publicly.

Plaza said after listening carefully to interviews conducted with the child’s mother and her boyfriend, he believed parts of their story “didn’t make sense” and suggested their actions may have amounted to gross negligence.

The toddler vanished from a home along Cambridge Trace, Goodwood, Tobago, on Monday night, sparking a massive multi-agency search operation involving homicide detectives, the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force, emergency responders and residents.

Initial reports stated that the child’s mother and her boyfriend realised around 7:30pm that Angelo was missing after checking the house and nearby surroundings.

Searches have since spread across bushy terrain, nearby communities and coastal areas.
The investigation intensified earlier this week after reports surfaced that a child’s body had allegedly been spotted floating at sea.

However, authorities later indicated the object seen in the water was logs and not human remains.
That revelation deepened uncertainty and concern across Tobago, with no confirmed sightings of the child since his disappearance.

Residents have remained heavily involved in search efforts, while speculation continues to mount over the circumstances surrounding the toddler’s disappearance.

Angelo is described as light-skinned, of mixed descent, with a round face.

He was reportedly wearing only a diaper when he disappeared.
