India–Philippines growing defence Partnership

Months after signing a $375 million deal to buy three BrahMos cruise missile batteries, the Philippines is now looking to buy a batch of advanced light helicopters from India. Officials in the Philippines are also impressed by the performance of India's indigenously developed Tejas Light Combat Aircraft. According to sources, the country may consider acquiring the Tejas for its fighter aircraft fleet
In March, India and the Philippines signed a framework agreement allowing for government-to-government deals for the supply of defence equipment and hardware.India has been considering supplying critical military hardware and platforms to countries with strong strategic ties and common interests
Both New Delhi and Manila, regarded as key players, in the Indo-Pacific region, both share a common interest, in the region's security, particularly, in the maritime arena, which contains critical sea lines of communication, and a variety of traditional, and non-traditional security challenges.
