Taking apart our family car blown up engine to see what happened. Even though I could see everything pretty well through the hole in the engine block I wanted to part this engine to see the damage closer. The connecting rod broke for some reason just before I was heading to the technical inspection with this car and for the first time in my life I experienced what it feels like when a car engine blows up while driving. There was parts flying - broken connecting rod bashed holes in the engine block, broke the starter motor and gearbox bell housing and poke a couple of holes in the sump leaving me stranded with a black oil stripe following the car to the side of the road in a cloud of smoke. It was epic. I'm glad it didn't happen during the inspection. :)
