Russia's invasion of Ukraine likely to exacerbate global supply chain issues

The invasion of Ukraine risks shocking fragile supply chains as much as the COVID-19 pandemic. Any stalling of Russian exports would hit a wide range of industries, from fertiliser makers to food, automotive and aircraft manufacturers. Russia is the world's third-largest oil producer and also accounts for 14% of the world’s aluminium output. Meanwhile, Ukraine produces a quarter of the world’s neon, which is vital to manufacturing semiconductors. Mr Koray Kose, a senior analyst in supply chain research at Gartner, shared his thoughts on which industries would be the most severely hit and the pressing issues that the logistics industry has to deal with.
