Arif Malik came to Canada in 2010. He started his career with Mobilink in Pakistan and worked there for 8 years as a Data Warehousing Manager. Afterwards he decided to move to Canada, and after landing it became quite challenging for him to find an appropriate job. Later one of his friends helped him connecting to a recruiter who helped him to shift himself towards contracting. After this, he was able to secure his first contract in 2010. Later, he got many different types of contracts between 2010 and 2016 within field of telecom in TELUS etc. Later he enhanced his knowledge towards business analysis, project management and user acceptance testing. He shifted to management consultant and then later shifted to his current role as a technology consultant. His advice to those moving to Canada is to have one-liner objective, understand and evaluate the market dynamics, work on their development side and should have knowledge about three C’s (change, commitment, contentment). According to him – one should be ready to accept change and be committed to their work and have a strong dedication towards the work.
