happy tuesday-
this vlog was supposed to go live last weekend. But on thursday, I rushed off to NYC without a laptop and couldn't get things done on the publishing end (normally takes a few hours between writing subtitles and tweaking the thumbnail etc)
but in short, those 3 days were SO good. a wonderful time seeing tyler for the first time in months, as well as our friend william. (our time together coming in next vlog)
Daylight savings time also was last weekend, and it's... interesting. It being dark outside makes me feel anxious, like I don't have as much time to get work done before it's bed time. Obviously it's in my head.. but I have certain habits I do to alleviate seasonal depression (will share soon)
so I need that now more than ever. And I swear, I've been eating something every 5 minutes to half an hour, but I feel super hungry. Thinking hard burns a lot of calories, I heard? It's also partly heartburn, which I get when I'm nervous. and it feels similar to hunger.
I've realized that we all have lots of things we balance on our plates- lots of obligations, hobbies, etc that we want to get to and never feel like we have the time for. Today, I want to remind you to enjoy the moment and spend less time ruminating on the feelings that there is 'never enough time' or 'always more to do'. See it in a good way. Blessing that we have a full life were we must rise to the challenges to deal with all the 'stuff' that may tire and stress us out. Be thankful for your body and your mind, and take care of it by resting and eating well.
Also, I've found that feeling productive partially means making time for stuff you think you don't have time for. Little things that you swear you will get to "when you ______". Make an exception for one thing today- whether it's catching up on that show, or filing your receipts (that was me last night lol) or clearing your workspace (which is gonna be me after this).
if it's stuff that you know you eventually will get to (such as canceling that subscription, or filling out that application due soon)- give yourself the dedication and space to get those done, without the guilt or nervousness.
After I do it- I feel happy, relieved, and positive.. and also find that it didn't take as big a hit on my overall schedule as I predicted. Anyway. These are just my thoughts- but of course, I can only speak from my little frame of reference. I understand that personal truths are never universal truths, but I'm happy that there are still ways we can manage to communicate, share ideas and sentiments for the better. Thank you for being here, for spending your time with us, and for hearing me out. Tell me what's been on your mind in the comments. :-)
