Boeing Stearman Kaydett G-CGPY - Duxford American Airshow 2016

Ex US Navy Wingwalk Display's Ltd Boeing A75L300 Stearman Kaydet, G-CGPY, wearing her original colours and code 671. The aircraft is seen here landing at IWM Duxford following the end of the first day of the American Airshow 2016. It did not take part in that days airshow.

The Boeing Stearman PT17 Kaydet was first designed in the 1930’s as a Pilot trainer in the USA and between 1939 and 1948 some 10,000 aircraft were produced. It was very rugged and straightforward to fly teaching both Army and Navy pilots the basic skills of flight.

Wingwalk Display’s aircraft has been fully restored and painted in the original US Navy colours,and is fitted with the more powerfull 300hp Lycoming engine.
