2020 has been a year unlike any other, presenting the preservation movement with challenges it has never faced before. Railway staff and volunteers alike have risen to that challenge and performed extraordinary feats under the most difficult and trying of circumstances. While for many this year has been purely about survival, a number of incredible projects have been completed across Britain that are credit to the resilience and ingenuity of the nation’s steam railways and the people vital to their success and longevity.
